Self-Sufficiency in Style about the writer |
|
| The
author worked at Felixstowe for many years in Shipping, Road Haulage, and
Computing. He twice created groups of companies, eventually selling out and retiring when still in his forties. He now enjoys the freedom not to conform - sans ties - sans suits - sans responsibility. |
Prior
to retiring, occasional writing, broadcasting and lecturing gave
particular satisfaction; possibly only to the main participant. He now lives in Norfolk, England and amuses himself by writing, mostly for his own pleasure, on a wide range of subjects: fact and fiction, short stories, novels, articles and essays, biographical and autobiographical, humour and the not so funny, business and arts, ethics, history and politics. Until very recently his wife kept a menagerie of animals. They lived a largely self-sufficient lifestyle, producing their own pork, lamb, beef , poultry, dairy products, fruit and vegetables. Now, following recovery from a serious illness, with his wife, he continues writing, but also tours the country and abroad fighting for individual Britons to retain the right to produce their own food and for a radical reform of the State Veterinary Service. Talks are given to clubs and societies. |
| The
writer makes no claim to be an expert in anything very much, except
perhaps in surviving the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune with a sense
of humour intact.
Self-Sufficiency in Style is not a manual on animal husbandry, farming or gardening. There are plenty of sources of detailed authoritative information of that kind. Many of them are far too comprehensive for someone just dreaming of making a new life, but where appropriate they will be mentioned on the page. If this site inspires just one person to put their dreams successfully into practice, it will have served its purpose well. |
